Having planned for the Momoz Tweetup this #BFT (Bangalore Friday Tweetup), I kept the invitation short and private. Thanks to @sanjaykkumar and @mithsm for making it without fail.

We started with some bland Thupka, graduated to Triple Shezwan Fried Rice and then Dragon Mushroom. Post that we went to Corner House for an Ice Cream as planned and discussed friends, food, bikes and Bangalore while savoring our Yummy choices.

Why GoogleDocs?

I have been using MSOffice since I knew computers. And have a love-hate relationship with it for that long too. Hate cos it slowed down my PC. Love cos its so feature-rich. And then the slow bit became so irritating, I moved to Notepad. Loved it and Love it even now, however miss the formatting. So, I started using Outlook Express, as my word editor. After all, I was used to sending out emails with it.

A few days later, I earned an invite to Gmail. And it changed quite a few things. Including getting used to the Auto-Save a-la MS Office. For quite some time now I use ‘TextEdit’/'MSOffice’ on Mac, its a lot better than on a Windows OS, and ‘Notepad’ and ‘Gmail’. Then came GoogleDocs. And, good gracious, now sharing, opening and viewing attachments was GoogleDocs job.

What I missed was the ’Etherpad’ way of community editing. Great tool for collaboration, I should admit. As they quote “EtherPad is the only web-based word processor that allows people to work together in really real-time.

When multiple people edit the same document simultaneously, any changes are instantly reflected on everyone’s screen. The result is a new and productive way to collaborate on text documents, useful for meeting notes, drafting sessions, education, team programming, and more.”
I liked it. And soon I read “On April 14th, new pad creation will be disabled.” So as of yesterday, I lost any opportunity to create a New Etherpad.

The Internet aint a bad world, after all. What do I see, Voila, our own GoogleDocs integrates the Etherpad style editting. So my respect for GoogleDocs got higher overnight.

Was going through Facebook and found this Community on “Mahi Way”. There is this interesting question that is being answered by over a hundred people. Impressive isn’t it?
With all the pretty ones disguising as delicious delicacies, I was sure tempted to post this. LOL!

And as the Disclaimer of Polished Crap goes “If YOU taking it OFFENSIVE then its YOUR FAULT. Cos all I write is Polished CRAP!”

WARNING! TAKE IT IN LIGHT HUMOR! TAKE IT IN RIGHT SPIRIT! AND LAUGH YOUR LUNGS OUT! DONT BLAME ME! YOU WROTE IT!

So should I be saying:
I like starting with deserts so I think I will have a Madhuri Bhanushali and a Safa A. Khaliq with Aarti Sharma. Then I’ll take a Amrita Jagtap with Vidula Kashyap sprinkled with Sifat Alam and Shruti Angirasa chips.

For the main course I shall have Sristi Kejriwal, Nirali Vyas with Farahnaz Reza and and Sabreen Khan Rao.

Then to finish it all, I will have a Anwen Hilary Hilz Vidhee Chamaria with a Preeti Kwatra as the dressing!

All Ladies Night

Were going through Facebook Events and found this one-of-its-kind event "Lavender Nights-The First All Gurl Party in Bangalore" at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=302485165269.

Although, the Event is truly a eye-catcher for both the women and the men (for obvious reasons), what we observed was that this event is "Strictly for Women", even though the event page does not restrict men from RSVPing.

Curious as every soul, although they have specified they are there for Music, we wonder what these slinky lavender outfit girls, showing off their pride are up to. As they say :

Shortcuts to satisfaction :)

Thanks to ShaaqT(on Twitter) ‘s post, I am inspired to write mine today. I liked her approach, however I would take a different one. Let me see if I can see where shortcuts have helped. The most evident use of Shortcuts is to save once’s skin.

Back at school, I had a couple of friends, who could not afford two pairs of uniform. They used to rush home and wash the cuffs, collars and the armpits of their white school shirt they wore, hung it to strain out the water, and fold and put it under their beds to ensure they had their school uniform for the next day, neat and clean. Shortcut for sure, however the best one to avoid getting punished for not wearing their uniform or wearing a smelly unpressed one. Shortcut to avoid shame.

And then of course there are the ones who just brought us joy.

We saw Kamal Hassan, in the silent masterpiece of a movie Pushpak, put coins in his half tea just to enjoy the pride of drinking a full glass. LOL! Shortcut to pride.

And long back when I came to Bangalore, I loved the sight of a cheesy Pizza, however hated the idea of asking my parents for the money. So I worked at a Pizza place, bunking classes. And I made my own Pizza, and munched on it with pride. Shortcut to happiness.

Where shortcuts to success are not my recommendation, shortcuts to live the small joys of life are surely a thumbs up. As long as it does not hurt or intimidate someone. What say?

#BFT at 3Storeys Bangalore

This #BFT (Bangalore Friday Tweetup) we had at 3 Storeys the sea food joint off Lavelle Road, was quite an attendance. With @angeldirect (Tina) not there for it, @dhempe (Hrish) and @brandbull (ShyamS) organized it with close to 15 people attending it. @swarathma was represented by Jishnu, who shared a lot of insights into the band, its history and some funny moments. Comments and questions poured in from every corner with @murlidharbhat (Murlidhar) discussing his stint at Social Media, @dhempe (Hrish) discussing his adventures on Twitter, @faiqg (Faiq) adding some smiles and @therealnaren (Naren), @Pratsie (Prathiba), @twahul (Rahul), @sidh256 (Siddharth), @brandbull (ShyamS), @flyfiddlesticks (Prasanna) and a few others (Forgot their Twitter IDs) adding their bits to make it an interesting forum. We also saw Jishnu wishing to do a Fan-driven @swarathma event. Any ideas fans?

The food was not that great with most of us not liking the excessive coconut in them. Of the non-veggies and fish, there were a few who relished it and few who did not have comments. On the whole the experience was fun-filled, full of interesting conversations, however, lacking in finger-licking food.

Post this a few of us went to have IceCream at Lakeside IceCream Parlor and savored a few different delicacies.

Our last stop while hunting for a good hotel conference hall to conduct a seminar, was Regalis, on Lavelle Road. I pillioned @twahul ‘s bike, @twahul suggested we stop at @theeggfactory . We passed by @theeggfactory on St.Marks Road and my taste buds began to rattle. The Egg Factory is an awesome egg place by food, innovative and creative interiors and COOL service staff. Did I mention that the owner of this is a very sweet guy?
